We are actively looking for more activities to be run out of Batheaston and surrounding area  

As soon as we get them confirmed we email all our Adventure Club members before we tell anyone else.  This gives our members opportunity to book the dates and events they want before we start to promote them on Social Media.

The Adventure Club is free – sign up using the form and then check your email inbox for an immediate confirmation email.

Never has the river meandering out of Bath looked so gorgeous. The views of the lush banks and overhanging trees, with the feathery white Willow seeds blowing gently across the river, was just a joy to behold and a perfect antidote to too many hours of screen time and work.

Roger is one of those wonderfully relaxed instructors who could introduce each new skill and stroke by making it sound more like a chat amongst friends than teacher/pupil type of vibe.

Our instructor, Roger, was absolutely brilliant. Made us feel at ease even though it was our first experience on a paddleboard, and was really accommodating with last-minute requests (such as wanting to bring our phones in dry bags, and needing a floating strap for glasses)

All in all, I highly recommend the company whether you’re a total beginner (like I was) or more advanced (following the introductory lesson I now believe I could hold up with the professionals - we’ll see)

Family paddleboarding sessions are available again from next week. Our mission is to encourage families to adventure together and our Family Paddleboarding Session is perfect for this. You pay a set fee for 2 hours with an instructor and can invite family members and close friends to join you. Key Facts: Up to 5 people 2 hours. An amazing Nocturnal Paddleboarding Adventure last night. The weather was perfect, and all the wildlife came to meet us. There is something truly magical about silently floating down the river as night falls. Everyone on the tour last night was left star-struck by the wildlife performances from the Beavers, Bats, Kingfishers and Heron. Massive thank you to @aleks_domanski for being out guide last night and teaching us all so much about the river and the animals that live above, on and in it. The next Nocturnal Tour is Thursday 17th August. Each tour only has 4 places so please book early to avoid disappointment. We are so excited by this new adventure! Starting this weekend we are partnering with @aleks_domanski to provide a unique stand-up paddleboarding nature adventure tour on the River Avon. Join us at Batheaston for an easy and relaxing 90-minute late afternoon paddle up and back down the river. Learn about the freshwater ecosystem, its wildlife and the basics of stabilized wildlife filming & photography from the water's surface (and peek below with underwater cameras from Alek's specially adapted kayak). Spaces are limited, and prices are modest - including insurance, board hire, SUP instruction and a contribution towards sustaining the weekly water quality testing program at Batheaston to inform river users and help protect our beautiful river environment. A little bit of river clean up this week. We've been meaning to clear this traffic barrier from the middle of the river for weeks but have always had customers with us. A private paddle with @aleks_domanski this week gave us the opportunity, and now there is one less piece of rubbish in the river. No paddleboarding this weekend as our founder is off raising money and blisters for the @youth_adventure_trust attempting the #3peakschallenge Roger (aka @bootsandboard) is part of a 6 man team (4 walkers and 2 drivers) who are attempting to complete Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours. We've had a fantastic first week. So many great customers and already several 5 star reviews on the Launch Point Adventures Google Profile page. This one was from a private lesson we did last week. It was a one-to-one lesson with someone who had tried before but could not stand up. (You can read the whole review below). If this sounds like you, please send us a message or visit our website - we would love to help you with one of our public or private lessons soon. ---- "Wow! Great couple of hours spent paddle boarding on the gloriously tranquil river Avon at Batheaston with Roger Chandler today; super experienced and qualified paddle board instructor. I had tried SUP boarding whilst on holiday with my kids in France but having fallen in numerous times with ‘jelly legs’ and getting ‘destroyed’ by my kids and wife who were all naturals - I decided to ask for Roger’s help on this sunny evening in June. Roger started with some basic techniques and safety instructions on dry land at their private pontoon in the centre of Batheaston village. Once that was done, we were straight into the water. Roger’s calm, reassuring and non-fussy approach got me through the early wobbles in a matter of 5 minutes and whilst there was the inevitable tumble into the Avon - Roger was on hand to instruct me how to get back on and try again with loads of encouragement. If you are new to paddle boarding - come and talk to Roger, but similarly - if you’ve done a bit already and you want to learn some more technique, he’s your man. By the end of our session I was standing up in complete confidence. Great fun !"

You cannot ask for more in the evenings at the moment. The sun is out, the water warm and the flow slow. Paddling home as the sun sets over solsbury hill is the best end to a great paddle. Our private lessons run most evenings or late afternoons during the week and there is no better way to de-stress after work and have a shared adventure with your children. Our public lessons run every Wednesday night. We are full tonight but there are still a few places available with our "bring a friend for free" deal over the next two Wednesdays. Tag the person you would bring for free.😀

We do love working with families who come out to have a shared outdoor experience Today we had Dad, 2 Children and the children's Uncle and it was great to see them helping each other learn new techniques and gaining confidence on the boards. A great 1 to 1 lesson yesterday afternoon. Started with the classic Elvis Legs and difficulty standing up but halfway through the lesson he cracked it and we had a great paddle upstream, learning some different strokes. Great to see Herons on the river this morning. Probably the most.common of our wildlife spots on the #batheaston paddles. Second place usually goes to the Kingfisher and if we are lucky the Otters and Beavers can make an appearance. Come and enjoy the tranquility of the river with us.
